Don't flatter me with lies
I've heard them all before
Don't spin your tales at me
They're starting me to bore
I understand your problem
It's me you want to bed
I'll give you little clues now
To whats lurking in my head.
The outsides just a shell
I manipulate for fools
The pout, the flutter and wink
Nothing more than tools,
I preen just like a parrot
My plumage oh so bright
I spend a fair few hours
Getting the outside right.
But it's only for show
To lure the men folk in
Promise them an ounce of vice
And half a pound of sin.
I'll reel you in, then spit you out
You're nothing but a toy
I'm better at this game then men
And sex is just a ploy.
Hearts abound that I have broke
And lives that I have shattered
I'm sorry if they really thought
That any of it mattered.
If an hour of fun is all you need
Then maybe we can cut a deal
I need some information
And you're just a cog in my wheel.
I'm sure there's many words out there
For women such as me
But I ignore the simple spite
And let the gossips be.
The greatest weapon that I have
Is my smile and wink
Just a simple sirens lust,
But not quite how you think.
Pillow talk, and favours owed
Are my stock in trade
Alliances bought or broken
Just don't ask how they're made.
So flatter me not with prose
And spare me flowers fair
Please no writing sonnets
To the blackness of my hair.
Hardened now to mans sweet word
Embittered to loves fair voice
Make yer bed and lay in it
And darlin, thats my choice.
One day I may find
Beauties grace has left
But you'll not find me weeping
Broken and bereft,
For many people will I own
And many men will owe
For the basest pleasures
Their secrets I will know.
Flatter me not with hollow words
Offer me not dark gold
Just simply tell me all
The secrets you've been told.
